Gibson and Gibson, Dictionary of Transports and Combatant Vessels Steam and Sail Employed by the Union Army, 1861-1868 says: CHICKAMAUGA; 2nd class sidewheel river steamer; 158 tons; 207 tons. Built by Quartermaster Department in Bridgeport, Alabama, at a cost of $20,000; used for supplying Chattanooga as part of the “Cracker Line.” Located at Chattanooga as of June 30, 1865; condition rated as good.
