Hochadel, Abraham’s Engines says: Baldwin no. 1063. 4-4-0. 15×24 in. cylinders. 54 in. drivers. 28 tons. 1862.06 Purchased from the builder as USMRR Dept. of Virginia #35/(2nd)“Vulcan” for $9250. 1862.07.05 Received at Alexandria. 1862.07-1864.02, 1864.04-07 Repaired at Alexandria. 1862 Used on the Orange & Alexandria RR and construction. 1863-1864 Used on O&A. 1865 Transferred to become Dept. of North Carolina #13/“Vulcan.” 1864(?) Used in North Carolina on the Moorehead City and Goldsborough line (apparently before it was transferred there). 1865.11.30 Sold to the Atlantic & North Carolina for $15,000. ca 1870 Renamed “Gen. Grant.” 1890 Scrapped.
