Boston Athenaeum says: Seated portrait of William W. Wright in front of a desk and engineer’s transit, at a fenced, outdoor location. Caption card which identified photograph in its original mount, since removed, reads: W.W. Wright / Chf. Engr. U.S. Mil. R. Rds. Wright managed the Acquia Creek and Fredericksburg railroads under Herman Haupt and later managed the trains supporting Sherman’s march to the sea.
