Photographic War History. The War For The Union. 1861-1865. No. 2391. Wounded Trees at Gettysburg. Some idea of the fierceness of the battle can be had by observing these trees near Culp’s Hill. the marks of bullets and shell can be counted by the hundreds. All through the woods the trees were marred in this manner. Many trees were shot down as though cut with an axe. [Taylor & Huntington stereo card]
