Library of Congress says: Nashville, Tenn. Federal outer line.
1861 – Photographic War History. The War For the Union – 1865. No. 6639. Outer Line at Nashville. This photograph was taken December 16, 1864, and shows a view on the outer line of the Union army at Nashville. The long line of shelter tents as far as the eye can see, the stacked arms, the groups of soldiers, all combine to make this a very interesting view. [Taylor & Huntington stereo card]
