Photographic War History. The War For The Union. 1861-1865. No.3679. Fort McAllister, on the Ogechee [sic] River, Ga. This was a very strong Rebel fort; it was captured by Sherman’s boys who made a splendid assault and charge, and carried it by storm. This view is on the river side of the fort, and shows a signal man on the parapet, and a steamer approaching. [Taylor & Huntington stereo card]
