Abdill, Civil War Railroads, p187: [A]t 12:00 noon the [Lincoln] funeral special left [Harrisburg] for Philadelphia on the Pennsylvania Railroad. The somber train was hauled by Pennsylvania Railroad’s Engine 331, shown here heavily festooned with the black crepe of mourning. The funeral engine was in charge of the engineer J. E. Miller and the train was skippered by Conductor George Phillips.
