MOLLUS Collection says: Fort Macomb. Chefmeneur Pass, which runs from Lake Borgne to Lake Ponchetrain in the rear of New Orleans, of which this fort was one of the defenses. Photographs taken in 1863, Fort being in command of Lieut. Col. Francis S. Hesseltine. Colonel and Mrs. Hesseltine.
