Naval History and Heritage Command says: USS Terror (Monitor, 1863-1874). The former Agamenticus, renamed on 15 June, 1869, photographed at Philadelphia in reserve sometime between 1869 and 1874 when the ship began a major reconstruction. Note the teporary [sic] pilot house fitted atop the fore turret for improving visiblity [sic] in navigating the ship at sea.
